چکیده

On the lattice, for Wilson fermions, the chiral Ward Identity is only approximately true, due to discretisation effects. We have a finite renormalisation constant ZA(g) to determine by demanding that a Ward Identity is obeyed to O(a) (with n = 2 for O(a) improved fermions). The ALPHA collaboration [1] has found ZA for quenched fermions using the Schrödinger functional and PCAC; here, alternatively, we shall use the chiral Ward identity for the propagator. We shall first check our ZA results for quenched fermions before then determining ZA for unquenched fermions. The chiral Ward identity for the propagator, SR, reads γ5S −1 R + S −1 R γ5 = 2 mR Λ P R,

Scaling of Non-Perturbatively O(a) Improved Wilson Fermions: Hadron Spectrum, Quark Masses and Decay Constants

We compute the hadron mass spectrum, the quark masses and the meson decay constants in quenched lattice QCD with non-perturbatively O(a) improved Wilson fermions. The calculations are done for two values of the coupling constant, β = 6.0 and 6.2, and the results are compared with the predictions of ordinary Wilson fermions. We find that the improved action reduces lattice artifacts as expected.

Hadron masses from dynamical, non-perturbatively O(a) improved Wilson fermions

With the installation of a 112 node Hitachi SR8000-F1 at the Leibniz-Rechenzentrum in Munich the QCDSF Collaboration has started simulating QCD with two degenerate flavors of fermions. In a cooperative program with the UKQCD Collaboration (see talk by Irving [1]) we share configurations giving both collaborations the possibility to do measurements at a larger set of bare parameters. This contri...

Non-perturbative renormalization of the quark condensate in Ginsparg-Wilson regularizations

We present a method to compute non-perturbatively the renormalization constant of the scalar density for Ginsparg-Wilson fermions. It relies on chiral symmetry and is based on a matching of renormalization group invariant masses at fixed pseudoscalar meson mass, making use of results previously obtained by the ALPHA Collaboration for O(a)-improved Wilson fermions. Our approach is quite general ...

Low-lying Fermion Modes of N F = 2 Improved Wilson Fermions

We present preliminary results for the topological charge and susceptibility determined from the low-lying eigenmodes of the Wilson-Dirac operator. These modes have been computed on dynamical configurations with N f = 2 non-perturbatively improved Wilson fermions. We compare our results with the eigenmodes of fermions in the quenched approximation.

Hadron masses and decay constants in quenched QCD ∗

We present results for the mass spectrum and decay constants using non-perturbatively O(a) improved Wilson fermions. Three values of β and 30 different quark masses are used to obtain the chiral and continuum limits. Special emphasis will be given to the question of taking the chiral limit and the existence of non-analytic behavior predicted by quenched chiral perturbation theory (qχP T).
